Parentage: [ Helen Traubel X Lolita ] Hybridized by Astor Perry Introduced in 1982 Ovoid buds, borne singly, open to reveal large, double, high centered blooms (45 petals). Strong fragrance. Repeats bloom again later in the season. Foliage is a medium to light green on tall, vigorous growth to 4 feet, and 3 feet wide. Prickles are small and triangular. Requires winter protection if temperatures drop below freezing. Spring Pruning: Remove old canes and dead or diseased wood and cut back canes that cross. In warmer climates, cut back the remaining canes by about one-third. In colder areas, you'll probably find you'll have to prune a little more than that. Zone 7 and higher. |
